This lovely antique bookcase was crafted in England around the year 1960. Ideal for use as a display shelf unit or office accent piece, this bookcase is as convenient as it is beautiful with one removable wooden shelf and a narrow depth that makes it easy to place!
Traditional antique bookcase style
The wood used to make this bookcase is a rich selection of mahogany. Brass decorations provide subtle contrast to the wood on either side and the top of the front. Fluted columns between these decorations add further elegance. The bookcase itself rests on a traditional plinth base. Finally, fluted molding around the top ties in with the columns. All of these classic elements combine to present a stunning bookcase that would complement any period furniture collection!
Very good condition
As a sign of its far-reaching quality, this antique bookcase has clearly stood the test of time. As sturdy today as the day it was made, it is also quite attractive and functional. The shelf rests on sturdy wooden brackets (it is not adjustable) and has a depth of 8″. The wood has sustained only minor wear marks here and there throughout, and was obviously well cared for in its life. In summary its condition remains very good, and we are confident that this piece will continue to remain sturdy and gorgeous for many decades to come!
