Here we show a relatively small antique china cabinet from England. Walnut wood and clear glass combine to form a great display piece to house your china. Sturdy shelves and working lock also add to the piece’s usefulness.
Perfect for Display
Some of the more important factors for a display cabinet include shelf size and make up. These shelves have a central depth of 10.25″ and tapers down towards the sides. These shelves are new to the piece. Made quite thick, they will hold a good bit of weight. Also, the two shelves do remove but do not adjust. Finally, The distance between the bottom and the first shelf measures 12″, from the first shelf to the second 10.25″, and from the top shelf to the top of the piece 11″. Please note, the front of the new shelves have a walnut veneer, but the shaped sides of the shelves do not.
Antique China Cabinet Origins
This piece hails from England where it was made sometime around the year 1960. The walnut wood used displays a wonderful medium color. Subtle painted Chinoiserie style decorations add to its elegance. The door does lock and one key comes with the piece. The door glass features a beautiful applied design. Finally, this antique china cabinet sits up on stunning Queen Anne style legs.
Overall, condition of this antique china cabinet remains good. The paint and gilding has many spots that are faded away. None of this really jumps out at you until you start looking closely. Also, the top has some minor marks and a faint ring mark to it. Otherwise, there are a few very minor wear spots here and there. None of them are noticeable. This antique china cabinet will make a beautiful addition to your home. It can house a large set of china for display, other collectibles, or even be used for books!
