Looking elegant on its ball and claw feet, this antique demi lune sideboard would go well in any home. The dark mahogany wood and curved lines combine to form an attractive and useful piece of antique furniture.
Originally made in England sometime around the year 1960, this buffet is a wonderful antique. The demi lune (or half moon) shape is one of its key features. This shape allows the sideboard to fit into a space without interfering with walkways. There are four very strong ball and claw legs supporting the entire piece. These legs provide support in a stylish way. Ball and claw foot side pieces are hard to find!
For storage this antique demi lune sideboard provides three cabinet doors that open to reveal removable wooden shelves. Each door has both a lock and a ball bearing latch, however, the locks do not come with a working key. We have included a key that doesn’t work the locks but can be used to open the doors with (like a handle). The doors do stay shut via the ball bearing latches.
We have rated the condition of this sideboard as good. It is sturdy and strong and all parts function normally. It has cosmetic wear present throughout. Small marks and nicks can be seen. The cabinet doors have crazing, most likely from being left in direct sunlight. The middle door has a small spot where the crazing is much worse than the rest of the piece and we have included an image of that area. The crazing does provide a nice distressed look to the doors. None of these issues prevent the sideboard from being a good looking piece that can be put into your home and used right away.
