This set of five side antique dining room chairs hail from the Edwardian Period. Their construction took place in England sometime around the year 1910. Today they provide sturdy and charming support that would look great in any dining room or kitchen!
Carved Oak Details
Crafted from beautiful solid oak, this set of dining chairs features hand carved details. Complimentary carvings on the back rest blend nicely with the fluted lines. Also, turned finials in the open space at the very top of the chair provide more of the Edwardian period style. The front legs of each of the antique dining room chairs are turned with carved lines. Meanwhile swept back legs help both aesthetically and structurally.
Each seat features a green leather upholstery held firm with brass nail heads. This leather is not original and is most likely 10-20 years old. Supportive seat cushions underneath the leather provide a comfortable sitting experience.
Condition of Antique Dining Room Chairs
Overall this set of five dining chairs remains in very good condition. Each chair is sturdy and structurally sound. None of the carvings are broken or repaired. Also, each of the leather seats remains in excellent condition. Each chair does possess a number of small wear marks that are normal for pieces of this age. They tend to add character and authenticity to the set rather than detract from it. Finally, the back leg of one chair does have a small and strong repair, where a small piece appears to have come off at the seam.
This set of antique dining room chairs will make a wonderful addition to any dining room, kitchen, or game room. Their rustic charm and comfortable elegance will warm any home!
The seat height measures 19″.
