This set of six side antique dining room chairs hail from the Art Nouveau Period. Their construction took place in France sometime around the year 1900. Today they provide sturdy and charming support that would look great in any dining room or kitchen!
Carved Walnut Details
Crafted from beautiful solid walnut, this set of dining chairs features hand carved details. Complimentary carvings on the back rest blend nicely with the fluted lines. Also, turned finials in the open space at the back of the chair provide more of the Art Nouveau period style. The front legs of each of the antique dining room chairs are turned with carved lines. Meanwhile curved stretchers help both aesthetically and structurally.
Each seat features a burgundy leather upholstery held firm with intricate brass nail heads. This leather is not original and is most likely 10-20 years old. Supportive seat cushions underneath the leather provide a comfortable sitting experience.
Condition of Antique Dining Room Chairs
Overall this set of six dining chairs remains in very good condition. Each chair is sturdy and structurally sound. One chair has a missing finial from the back rest, but all other carvings are intact. Also, each of the leather seats remains in very good condition. The only flaws to the leather are some small indents on the seat of each chair. The frame of each chair does possess a number of small wear marks that are normal for pieces of this age. They tend to add character and authenticity to the set rather than detract from it.
This set of antique dining room chairs will make a wonderful addition to any dining room, kitchen, or game room. Their rustic charm and comfortable elegance will warm any home!
The seat height measures 19″.
