This mahogany chest of drawers was made in England around 1910 during the Edwardian furniture period. This period is well known for its clean lines, mahogany furniture, and straight, simple satinwood inlays. This dresser fits the period perfectly. With three large drawers there is plenty of storage space, and the chest is the perfect size to fit in a variety of applications. The drawers are joined with hand cut dovetails.
This chest has wear in the form of scuffs and nicks throughout, mainly on the plinth base and top. We have included a sampling of these marks in our photos. They definitely give the chest a rustic appearance. You will see some significant marks on the bottom right just above the plinth, on the left corner of the plinth, and on the front of the top moulding. The bottom right handle has been replaced, although all the others appear to be original to the piece. There is no key for this chest of drawers. The mahogany has patinated wonderfully over the years and is accented perfectly with straight satinwood inlays. A sturdy piece that will stay in the family for generations, don’t miss out!
