These three mirrors make up a wonderful antique Edwardian mirror set. Most likely they started life as the mirrors on a dressing table. Today, they provide a plethora of decorating potential to any wall!
A sturdy mahogany frame borders each of the oval mirrors. A satinwood string inlay adds a little contrast to the wood. Also, this inlay serves to accentuate the oval shape. Each mirror is beveled. Beveled mirrors have another layer of elegance over regular mirrors.
Antique Edwardian Mirror Set Origin and Condition
Originally, this set was crafted in England around the year 1910. They retain a wonderful rustic charm from that era with a lovely patina. The mahogany wood has sustained some indents and wear marks as well as minor fading. Upon very close inspection, the filled holes where the hardware attaching the mirrors to the dressing table can be seen. You won’t notice this when they are hanging on the wall. Also, the mirrors have spotting in places. You will see this in the images. Each mirror is set up to hang vertically. One could easily move the hangers and wires to have the hang horizontally as well.
This antique Edwardian mirror set is a lovely and unique decorative item that could find an attractive place in any home. Your imagination is the only limit to how they can be used!
The larger mirror measures 17.25″ wide and 33.38″ tall while the smaller ones measure 8.75″ wide and 24″ tall.
