Hailing from the Victorian furniture era, this antique end table with drawer is a useful piece. No matter where you need a little accent table, this piece will fill the role! Originally made around the year 1890, it has survived over 120 years in great shape.
Ebonized Oak Wood
Crafted from solid oak wood, this side table is heavy and sturdy. Upon the death of Queen Victoria, furniture owners stained very dark or ebonized their pieces to mourn her loss. As you can see, this table underwent that same process. Today, the dark stain has had a chance to develop a lovely patina that will continue to improve over time.
Features of Antique End Table with Drawer
All four legs are connected with a stretcher. This creates a more stable and sturdy table. Also, a single drawer provides some storage. It does have a lock, but no key remains. Inside, a previous owner replaced the drawer bottom a number of years ago. They did a good job on the replacement and it is hardly noticeable.
Other than the drawer bottom, no other repairs appear on this end table. Also, there are a few minor marks and indents here and there as you would expect from something of this age. These minor distressing marks lend character and charm to the antique end table with drawer. Finally, a very slight age separation has occurred in the top in one of the seams.
Not only a great antique, this piece provides versatile function within the home. Some of the uses for it include between two chairs, off by itself in a foyer, or as a nightstand. Your imagination is the limit for using this antique end table with drawer!
