Originally, this antique mahogany bookcase was crafted in England around the year 1960. Today, it remains a beautiful and functional piece with a great size for any location.
Classic mahogany bookcase design
As English bookcases go, this one is a traditional bow fronted piece. The mahogany has been richly finished and decorated with simple moldings at the top and bottom. A shaped apron joins the feet across the front. The result is a stunning mahogany bookcase that would complement any office furniture collection.
A single shelf provides sturdy display. The shelf rests on four pins that are inserted into holes; they adjust by moving the brass pins up or down into different sets of pin holes. Several different sets of holes exist allowing you some customization to the height. This is a traditional vintage design that evolved from alligator bracket shelving, a more antiquated design for adjustable shelving. The shelf depth tapers from 11.75″ in the middle to 10.25″ on the sides.
