This antique style mahogany bureau bookcase was crafted in England around the year 1960. The mahogany displays a rich complexion and a striking grain, making this bureau bookcase a fine prospect for any furniture collection. The brass hardware and glass doors also look quite lovely, particularly the traditional astragal (meaning 13 pane) glass fretwork. Inside, two wooden shelves adjust to one of three positions and have a depth of 6″.
The desk area is inlaid with a writing surface of rich green leather, which is as beautiful as it is pleasant to write on. The elegant cabriole legs also remain very sturdy.
Naturally, this bureau bookcase has sustained some light wear. One of the glass panes (bottom of the left door) has a crack in it. Also, the mahogany exhibits some minor crazing on the fall and drawer fronts. This piece also disassembles into the top and bottom sections for shipping and convenient movement; the top simply sits on top of the base. This Queen Anne style bureau bookcase would certainly make a fine addition to any furniture collection!
Finally, one key comes with the piece that operates the doors and fall. The desk section measures 27.25″ wide x 19.25″ deep x 27.5″ tall when open.
