This is a unique and wonderful antique French mirror that was made sometime around 1890. The frame was made to resemble branches with leaves and flowers and it looks great!
The frame is made from wood with plaster and bronze used to create the log, vine, leaf, and flower effects. The craftsman who made this certainly took his time to make the frame into a real piece of art. The mirror is in very good shape with only a few spots here and there. Spots are where the silver back has tarnished and are common in antique mirrors like this.
We are giving this mirror a good overall condition. It is sturdy and looks good. It is ready to go right into your home or office and be hung. There are several areas of old repairs to point out, which we have tried to highlight in the pictures. There are repairs to the plaster leaves in the top middle, top right corner, bottom right corner, and bottom left corner. These repairs are blended in and you do not notice them unless you are looking for them. Also there is a repair to the faux wood grain of the middle bottom, another good repair that you wouldn’t normally see unless looking for it.
The back is strung with a heavy rope and the mirror is ready for hanging.
