Product Description

Originally made in England during the Georgian period (around 1820), this mahogany bow front dresser remains quite stunning today. This classic beauty would make an elegant and attractive addition to any discerning home.

Mahogany bow front dresser

The mahogany used in this beautiful chest of drawers has an eye-catching, wispy grain. Coupled with the brass plate back handles they make a lovely combination of color and texture on a gorgeous piece of furniture.

Hand crafted excellence

Since its creation in 1820 this chest has developed a lovely patina, a process that only occurs with aging and can not be reproduced. The drawers are constructed with traditional hand cut dovetails in both the front and back of the drawers.

Good Condition

This bow front dresser with its two over three drawer design is very sturdy. There are some old marks and repairs to mention that have been polished over and now add character and charm to this chest. As with most antique dressers, there is no key for the drawers. Just above the top right drawer is a very small repair to the wood. Both sides have minor marks here and there. The top also displays minor wear marks that are old and polished over. The back right and left corners of the top have dings. There is some missing veneer on the back and front left corners as well as two very small splits (1-2″ in length). Both feet have chips at the very bottom and the shaped apron has sustained dings. Reading through this list of old repairs etc. makes the piece sound like it is in worse shape than it is. As you can see from the pictures, it is a lovely chest where all of these marks come together to form a piece rich with history and character that would look beautiful in any home!
