This stunning antique jewelry box is the perfect small gift for someone or for yourself! The box is mahogany wood with satinwood and ebony inlays. A single drawer is fitted with a brass ring pull and lined with green felt. Also it is joined with hand cut dovetails in the front and back.
This box dates back to the Edwardian period in England, around 1910. It was part of a dressing table and was later converted to the jewelry box you see today. During the conversion the feet and back were added and fabric put in the drawer. Nothing else appears to have been done to it.
The overall condition remains good. There is a little fading and light staining to the mahogany in places, which is to be expected in something over 100 years old! The top has a very small small piece of inlay missing on the left side. This is a cosmetic phenomenon and doesn’t affect the box’s integrity.
Take this antique jewelry box home and let it store your keepsakes in gorgeous style today!
