Antique Ladderback Dining Chairs
These beautiful chairs were made in England around 1920. They are made from a wonderful selection of oak which has been carefully finished to a warm, dark color. This set of antique ladderback dining chairs consists of four armless chairs. The backrests consist of five horizontal slats running between two vertical rails. This characteristic is what gives the chairs their name. Antique ladderback dining chairs like this often have pop out seats. These seats are done in rush that is in excellent condition. The chair legs and front stretcher are nicely turned giving some interest to the bottom of the chairs.
All four chairs are extremely sturdy. They have been very well taken care of. As you will see, there is some fading to the finish in areas on the back rests. This is t be expected after over 90 years of handling! The seat height on each chair is 18.75″.
