Product Description

Perfect for use in any bedroom, or even as a hall wardrobe if space allows, this handsome mahogany antique will be a fine addition to any collection. This piece was originally crafted around 1890 in England and recently imported to our location in Atlanta, Georgia.
This armoire features a spacious interior with multiple rows of wooden pegs and metal bars for hanging garments and bags. The bottom of the wardrobe features a nice sliding drawer perfect for storing folded garments or many other items. Framed on either side by two gorgeous spiral columns this cabinet really stands out.
The interior of the main storage space ranges in height from 55 inches in the middle to 51 inches on each side.

Mahogany Wood

Mahogany is a long standing favorite for furniture, and in this piece it really shines. The large panel of the main door really shows off the fine quality mahogany used so many years ago.

Wardrobe Condition

As this antique mahogany wardrobe is estimated to be around 125 years old, it has seen some use over its time. First we feel this item used to be a secretaire and someone converted it to a wardrobe by hollowing out the inside and combining the desk/drawer fronts together to make the door. They did a very good job. It appears like it used to have a lock, but that no longer remains. The door stays shut without a lock or latch. There is not a handle to open the door but we have included a key that can be used in the hollow key hole as a handle. There are age separations to the left side and the top middle of the crown as well as the twist columns near the top. The left side also has some veneer chips on the crown’s molding. One of the decorative keyholes on the main door is chipped as seen in the main overall picture. There are numerous dings, marks, and indents throughout the piece which add character to it rather than detract from it. Finally the right side has some fading to it.
This is a very unique piece that would go well in any area where you could use a handsome storage piece.
