This antique pub table is differentiated from others by its unique base. The top is a wonderful dark oak wood that seats four when closed and six people when opened. The top is 35.75″ x 35.75″ when closed and opens to 59.25″ x 35.75″ when fully extended.
The base is a refectory style base using the traditional barley twist leg for its columns. This creates a classic but also unique look! This base is more advantageous to having six people sit at it though, as there are no legs to get in the way! That makes this pub table ideal for a breakfast or kitchen table and even a game table.
We have rated this pub table in good condition. The finish is a wax finish that has faded and incurred wear marks in some areas. The leaves have the most wear marks it seems. Besides this and some minor surface wear around the stretcher and base, this table is in great condition. The opening mechanism works flawlessly.
To extend the table you simply pull the ends out, and the center section falls to be flush with them. This can easily be done with just one person and they don’t need to be particularly strong to do it.
This table was originally made in England sometime around 1920 and is very well made. It is incredibly sturdy. You can put it right into your home and use it right away.
Finally, the distance from the floor to the bottom of the apron measures 25″.
