Product Description

This carved oak antique Victorian barley twist buffet is an absolutely stunning piece that comes from England. The oak has been carved in almost every square inch of this very impressive server with various floral and pattern decorations.

Dining Room or Foyer

The versatility of this piece cannot be understated. Traditionally a dining room buffet, it also goes great in a foyer or entryway. Also, with a fairly narrow depth, it would work wonderfully in a hallway. The medium brown color of the oak wood blends well with other woods, colors, and textures.

Antique Victorian Barley Twist Buffet

This piece was made in England during the late Victorian period, around 1890. It features three tiers and a single drawer. A green mask carving doubles as the drawer handle. The bottom tier has a small piece of wooden trim that was added at some point. We think this was used to help something stand up there, like a large plate.

Condition

The overall condition of this antique Victorian barley twist buffet remains good. It is a sturdy piece and clean, ready to be used in your home immediately. The top appears to have been hinged at one time, but is no longer. The top has a missing piece from the back left corner and a repair to the back right corner. The back left bottom barley twist column has a cosmetic age separation to it. The entire piece exhibits minor wear marks and stains all of which seem to blend together giving the piece a rustic charm.
Don’t miss a great deal on a Victorian Period antique piece from England!
