Whether you need a place to sit and doll yourself up in the morning or you are just looking for a great looking piece of furniture, this antique Victorian period dressing table is the piece for you! It is made from lovely mahogany wood that has developed quite the patina over its 120+ year of life.
Victorian Period Antique
Originally made in England around 1890, this dressing table has survived the years in great condition. Some of the more eye catching features are the thick, turned and carved front legs and the carved mirror supports. The ample sized mirror provides a brilliant reflection. Five drawers (two larger and three small) are also present for storage of cosmetics, hair accessories, or anything else you might need. The two larger drawers have locks but there is no key.
Perhaps most attractive on this dressing table is the mahogany wood’s color and finish. The mahogany has become very warm and inviting over the years, great for a bedroom setting. The old, hand rubbed finish is one of the most sought after looks in furniture today. Combine these with the lovely carvings and you have a very attractive piece of furniture.
Overall the condition is very good on this antique dressing table. While the mirror exhibits spotting, particularly on the left side (seen in photos) and there is a small repair to the bottom of the mirror frame, overall the piece is in very good shape. Minor stains and dings that are expected for a piece of this age are present but rather than detract from the beauty of the dressing table they add character to it. It is a very sturdy piece and is structurally very sound. The mirror does remove for safer shipping.
The measurement from the floor to the bottom of the drawers is 23″ and from the floor to the top of the “table top” is 28″.
