This charming oak antique wardrobe was crafted in England around the year 1940. Designed to reproduce the features of 18th century antique, the carved paneling and brass hardware are the perfect adornments for this lovely bedroom piece, which remains in excellent condition.
The oak used in this beautiful antique wardrobe displays a rich complexion and a pronounced grain that will only continue to grow more beautiful with time. The quality of the wood’s appearance indicates that it was treated to an expert finishing process that ended in a fine coat of hand-rubbed wax, which helps enrich and protect the natural beauty of the wood. Over the years, a patina has gently settled into the oak, enhancing its appearance. Meanwhile, the antique style brass hardware, paneling, and hand carvings all complement the oak to produce quite a beautiful antique wardrobe.
Antique wardrobe with modern functionality
This tidy wardrobe contains all of the storage space that a person could need. Inside resides a single hanger bar with hooks below. Both doors shut with a ball and spring assembly.
Most of the surface of this piece is covered in beautiful hand carvings and geometric shapes. This gives the antique wardrobe a very Jacobean feel.
Excellent overall condition
The only repair exists on the molding between the two doors. A sturdy repair shows there, and we have included a picture of it. Also, there are a few wear marks in the oak, but otherwise it remains in excellent condition owing to excellent construction and quality maintenance. This wardrobe would certainly make a fine addition to any English furniture collection!
