Sometimes a room calls for a little flair, and this antique yew dining table gives it to you. Made in a traditional double pedestal design, the yew makes it a special and eye-catching piece for your family to gather around each day!
Function and Beauty
This dining table has two leaves that measure 18″ wide each. So the table can be set up at its fullest length of 108.25″, with one leaf at 90.25″, or closed down to 72.25″ without the leaves. 108.25″ is a great size for seating about 10 people depending on your chair size. The two pedestals are not only very sturdy, but beautifully made as well. Also, the top has a yew cross band and ebony line inlay around the edge. This helps define the edges of the piece and provides some contrast in the grain as well.
Antique Yew Dining Table
Yew wood is an English wood which has many similarities to bird’s eye maple. This antique yew dining table was crafted in England sometime around the year 1960. The yew used has a wonderful grain and is speckled in places with small knots for a stunning effect. A small apron runs around the outside and there are 27.5″ from the floor to the bottom of the apron.
Overall the condition of this piece remains good. The edge has some minor marks in places. There are also some marks to the top including a number of minor scratches and indents. That being said, most can only be seen in certain lights. These are hard to spot and do not detract from the overall beauty of the dining table. Also, the top has experienced some minor crazing which we have included pictures of. Clean and ready to be used immediately in your home, it is built for everyday use by a family and will look spectacular at the same time!
