This elegant flame mahogany liquor cabinet was crafted in England around the year 1960. The bow front design and rich wood make this piece a valuable collector’s item for any furniture collection.
Rich flame mahogany
The selection of wood used in this liquor cabinet is known as flame mahogany or crotch mahogany. True to its exotic namesake, this wood displays a rich complexion and a highly pronounced grain that would complement any setting. Over the years, the mahogany has developed the beginnings of a lovely patina, which enriches the natural beauty of the wood.
Sturdy liquor cabinet construction
Like most quality English furniture, this antique liquor cabinet remains as sturdy today as the day it was made. The top set of doors lock with an accompanying key, and the lower cabinet door also locks with another key. The slide below the upper section pulls out smoothly, while the drawer below the slide also opens and shuts seamlessly. There are two removable shelves, both wooden and one in each section. You will also see that the back of the upper section has a mirror affixed to it.
The mahogany does exhibit some very minor crackling and fading that can be seen when inspected closely. This tends to add character and authenticity to the piece rather than detract from it. Overall, it remains in a very sturdy and excellent working condition! It would make a wonderful addition to any home!
It is one piece and does not break down.
