Here we have a two door breakfront display cabinet made from mahogany. It is a captivating piece that would dress up any dining area or living space.
Breakfront Display Cabinet
Many great features combine to make this breakfront display cabinet a stunning piece of furniture. Starting at the top we have a moulded cornice that gives the piece an elegant finished look. The two doors are fitted with individual panes of clear glass. Individual paned glass is a sign of high quality. Inside the top are two thick, adjustable glass shelves. Glass shelves are wonderful for display! There is a light in the top but it doesn’t function and would need to be replaced. The glass shelves adjust with a brass pigeon hole system. It does appear the piece was set up to house three shelves, but there are only shelves and pins for two.
Below the top section is a cabinet section. It too appears to have had a shelf at one time, but now functions as a large storage area. Both upper and lower doors lock and a key is included. The upper shelves have a depth of 12.5″.
This piece was made in England sometime around 1960. We have recently imported it to our Atlanta antique furniture store. It is in excellent condition with only a few minor imperfections. The left door has three very small spots on the glass that we cannot get out. One glass shelf has a chip about a half inch in diameter and one has a pencil point size chip in it. Finally the mahogany on the bottom doors has a little fading. Whether used to display fine china in a dining room or nick knacks in a living room, this breakfront display cabinet will be an eye-catching addition to your home!
