This finely detailed decorative bronze dog with rabbit is a new reproduction of a work by Prosper Lecourtier. He was a French sculptor who lived from 1851-1924 and produced several dozen marvelous sculptures in his time and was well known for his dog works. On this wonderful piece the dog is triumphantly carrying his catch, a rather unlucky rabbit, in his or her mouth. The dog’s fur is finely detailed as well as its facial features. Further detail can be seen on the hare especially in his feet.
Made using the hot cast and lost wax methods, this sculpture is a high quality piece. It is bronze, not spelter or resin and is a very heavy piece. The base is solid marble and an attractive black with gray that goes will with the bronze metal. The base measures 15″ long and is 5″ wide. It is 10″ tall. This is a stunning decorative bronze that will go well on any desk, bookcase, or display area.
