Product Description

Here we have a rustic, distressed antique chest of drawers that has survived since it was made in England around 1820 in strong and working condition. Time has molded this piece into a lovely dresser that is full of character and charm. It would look great not only in a bedroom for clothes or as a large bedside chest, but in a foyer, hallway, or anywhere else you would like to display something beautiful.

Walnut Wood

The wood is walnut which has a wonderful medium brown color. In particular, the grain of the walnut on the drawer fronts is very attractive. The sides are oak, which is not unusual for something of this age. The nicer, more expensive woods were often saved for the front and top of pieces and a more common wood used for the structural parts. Each drawer front is accented with a herringbone inlaid band and new antiqued brass handles. While each drawer has a lock, no key remains. A three over three drawer design like on this antique chest of drawers is unique and eye-catching.

Distressed Antique Chest of Drawers

We have used the term distressed because the piece has suffered a number of superficial marks throughout over the years. These serve to provide the dresser with the character and charm that is so enticing on antique furniture. Of note is the face that the left side has an age separation where the two boards that make up the side have shrunk over time leaving a small gap. This is cosmetic only and does not affect the integrity of the chest. Also in a few small spots there are chips to the herringbone band on the drawers. We have pictured the worst one. Otherwise all of the drawers work very well, and are quite deep (front to back) providing maximum storage and ease of use on this distressed antique chest of drawers. Don’t miss your chance to own this one of a kind piece today!
