Here we have a beautiful drop leaf Pembroke table. It was made by Johan Tapp of beautiful mahogany wood. It has a drawer and will be a useful and beautiful addition to any home!
Satin Banded Mahogany Wood
The wood used is a fine mahogany wood. Mahogany exhibits a tight grain and is a medium brown color. Accenting the edges of the top and drawer are satinwood inlays. Also, satinwood inlays decorate the drawer front and back of the table. Finally, a gorgeous plate back handle adorns the drawer and provide a little contrast to the woods. The cross bandings are expertly done and the mahogany was very well finished.
Drop Leaf Pembroke Table Features
Perhaps the most important feature are the drop leaves. They are supported by swing out wooden arms below them. Closed, the table measures 21.5″ x 30″, and while open it measures 40.5″ x 30″. Additionally, there is a single drawer which opens and closes very easily. That drawer has been properly constructed with dovetailed joints. Also, the legs are a gentle, straight taper. This is a great look with a traditional feel for this piece.
We feel this drop leaf Pembroke table was made around the year 1960. Its condition remains very good today. The top has recently been refinished. There are a few veneer repairs to the satinwood banding. Finally, some small wear marks here and there on the legs exist. Otherwise, this is a very sturdy table which functions and looks great. You can be sure this drop leaf Pembroke table with last your family for many years.
