A wonderful piece, this Empire style dresser comes from Europe where it was crafted around the year 1960. It combines mahogany and burled walnut woods to a masterful and elegant effect. Also, the use of brass handles and decorations holds true to the Empire style.
Five Drawer Dresser
This dresser boasts five drawers for storage. Each is made with dovetailed joints. They run on wooden runners and, due the narrow depth of the piece, are fairly narrow from front to back. Four cabriole style legs lead up to shaped aprons on the front and sides. These legs remain quite sturdy and well made.
Empire Style Dresser
The top, sides, and each drawer have a beautiful burled walnut veneer that provides stunning contrast to the mahogany wood. Also, the brass adds a touch of elegance with the handles and decorations on the corners and apron. Finally, a shaped front adds even more interest.
Overall, the condition of this Empire style dresser remains very good. There is a small piece of replaced veneer on the front. Also, several of the drawers have slight age separations in the veneer. None of this is particularly noticeable or structurally damaging. This beautiful dresser remains sturdy, clean, and ready to add beauty to any room!
