Product Description

Made around the year 1880, this English antique linen press would make an attractive addition to any home. It was made from mahogany wood which has, over the past 130+ years, developed a wonderful sheen that can only be duplicated by time. Perfect for clothes storage as an armoire or to put a TV in, you can use this lovely piece anywhere!

Linen Press

Inside the top you will see this press has retained three of its original five slides. The slides are where clothes and linens were stored after having been pressed to keep them wrinkle free. This upper cabinet area has an interior measurement of 48″ wide x 20.5″ deep x 41″ tall so there is plenty of room to store whatever you need to. The slides come right out if you don’t want to use them or if you want to rearrange them. This English antique linen press does separate into three pieces (crown, cabinet, and chest sections) for easier moving.

This linen press is in good condition and is quite sturdy and stable. There are locks for the door and drawers, but no key remains. The doors do stay closed on their own. The left door has a three inch long indentation at the very bottom left corner. The right door has some small chips at the top and the side of the door shows an old, major repair. The middle moulding at the top of the chest section has a small chip on the left corner. The entire piece shows minor wear marks in the form of small dings that you come to expect from a piece that is over 130 years old. These marks server to add character to the linen press rather than detract from it. The entire piece has a great overall look and is ready to be used in your home immediately.
