This stunning small four tier corner whatnot was made in England sometime, circa 1960. It’s done in mahogany wood and features turned and tapered columns that are capped off with turned finials. The front edges of each shelf is curved out and decorated with a simple edge molding. Each tier is graduated (gets smaller as it goes up).
Adorning the back of each shelf sits two carved decorations. These serve dual purpose as both decorations and to prevent items from sliding off the back of the shelves. The mahogany has a great, dark color and subtle grain. It remains in excellent condition with virtually no wear.
The distance between each shelf measures 14.5″. Three turned feet that resemble the finials strong support this four-tier corner whatnot. This little piece would make a handsome place to display pictures of collectibles in any room! It would also make a great piece in a bathroom holding towels, washcloths, etc.
