Originally made in France, circa 1890, this oak fox head dining table is a stunning piece of furniture. The obvious main feature of the table are the hand-carved fox head legs, however, the carved edge and beautiful wood also provide a charming look.
Fox Head Table
When it was first made, this table would most likely been a little shorter and had leaves. It would have been commissioned for a wealthy estate. Today, the leaves no longer remain and we believe the smooth turned buns at the bottom of the table were added to bring it inline with today’s standard table height. With an overall height of 30″ the measurement from the floor to the bottom of the apron is 26.5″.
Antique Table Condition
Overall, the condition of this fox head table remains good. The top has sustained minor general wear in the form of small marks, dings, and rubs. You can see a sampling of this in our pictures. The top has a small age separation, also pictured. Also, the pedestal base has a few minor age separations and old repairs. These are cosmetic and do not affect the integrity of the table. Finally, there are two small pieces missing from the very bottom of the pedestal.
Whether used in your dining room, kitchen, or entry way, this table is sure to impress your visitors and provide generations of elegant service to your family!
