This elegant antique corner cabinet was crafted in England about 1940. Complete with three shelves and two locking doors, it would make a fine addition to any office or dining room furniture collection.
A classic antique corner cabinet
Every feature of this antique style cabinet is part of the English cabinetry tradition. Classic dental molding adorns the cornice, while the upper door is framed with astragal glass. The lower door features a beautiful selection of mahogany, which has aged wonderfully over the years as a patina has settled into the wood. This enriches the natural beauty of the mahogany as only time can–one of many reasons why antique corner cabinets are such sought after pieces! Meanwhile, shaped bracket feet provide sturdy support, and each shelf is fixed and not removable. Inside, the upper and lower sections were painted a green some time ago.
Very good condition
As sturdy as it is beautiful, this lovely antique corner cabinet remains in good overall condition. Both of the upper corners have minor damage to them. One of the back panels has an age separation to it. This is cosmetic and does not affect the piece’s structural integrity. Like most pieces its age, it has sustained some minor scuffs and wear marks, of which a sampling is readily apparent in the photos that accompany this listing. Such light, cosmetic wear is normal and enhances the charming character of this cabinet, making it an ideal fit for any antique furniture collection in the dining room, office, or living room. Certainly this corner cabinet will endure for many decades to come, so it is not just a quality find but also a wise investment that will retain its value over the years!
One key is included which works both locks.
