This elegant antique mahogany buffet was crafted in England circa 1960. Made with a wonderful flame mahogany, it contains quite a bit of storage, making it the perfect addition to any dining room furniture collection.
Convenient buffet design: storage for the dining room!
As useful as it is beautiful, this wonderful English buffet contains two main storage compartments. Behind each cabinet door is a large storage area with a removable shelf inside. In the center is a smooth opening drawer adorned with brass ring handles. The doors and drawer lock and one key is included.
Rich mahogany wood
The wood was originally finished by a traditional craftsman who completed the process with a coat of hand-rubbed wax, which both enriches and protects the natural beauty of the mahogany. This has helped the wood age beautifully as a patina has begun to settle in. As the decades pass, this buffet will only continue to grow more lovely. Satinwood inlay and mahogany cross bands help offset the edges and provide an elegant border for the fine wood.
Condition: how has this antique mahogany buffet stood the test of time?
Structurally, this buffet is very sturdy. The drawer operates smoothly and is stout. Cosmetically, it also looks good. There are some minor wear marks across the top, about the amount you’d expect from something of this age. Also, the decorative molding below the center drawer has a repaired break on either side. This antique mahogany buffet is a great size for a number of spaces within the home. It is a beautiful and useful furniture item to enhance your collection!
