Product Description

This classic antique flip top game table is from England and was made sometime around 1890. It is made from a lovely flame mahogany wood and remains in good condition today.

Antique Flip Top Table

The main feature of this table is, of course, the flip top. While closed the top measures 36″ x 17.5″. Simply flip the top open and rotate it ninety degrees and you have a 36″ x 35″ table top surface covered in felt. Felt is great for card playing among other games. If you rotate the top before flipping it, there is a small storage section underneath. This functionality makes this antique table very useful for a variety of applications.
Lovely flame mahogany wood was used to create this antique flip top game table and it is prominent on the table top. Over the years the mahogany has developed a lovely patina. The color and grain on the table are quite stunning.
Just as notable is the gorgeous pedestal base. It is a four splay leg base with a turned column in the center. Also, each leg is hand carved with beautiful acanthus leaf decorations. The original furniture maker obviously had a great deal of skill and put a large amount of effort into making this a functional and gorgeous piece of furniture.

We have rated this table as good condition. The main cosmetic issue with the piece is the felt has seen some use and has some stains. It is still usable though. The wood, over the last 120 years, has developed numerous marks and stains. These age marks lend character to the piece. Finally, the front left corner is missing a bit of molding on the bottom of the top section. It is a sturdy table that is strong enough for everyday use. Don’t miss your chance to own this wonderful antique flip top table today!
