This set of eight Gothic antique dining chairs hails from England where it was crafted around the year 1910. For very old chairs, these have held up quite well over the years. The unusual backs with cathedral arch designs make them a unique find!
Made from solid mahogany wood these dining chairs exhibit a dark brown color. The set consists of two arm chairs and six side chairs. The sides have pop out seats with a pink upholstery, while the arms have white. Because the seats easily pop out, recovering them is a simple task.
Gothic Antique Dining Chairs Design
As stated, these chairs exhibit a very unique design. The most obvious is the cathedral arches in the back rests. Also, just below those arches sits a traditional English beaded molding. Fluted lines around the back rests, arm rests, and down the legs provide added elegance to the look.
Overall, these chairs remain in fair condition. All of the chairs have minor wear marks here and there. Three side chairs and one of the arm chairs are free of any major dings, damage or repairs. One arm chair has a repaired leg. Three side chairs are missing some of the beading. Of these three chairs, one has a few minor marks, one has a major gouge in each front leg, and one has a major repair to one leg.
The arm chairs in this set of Gothic antique dining chairs measure 23″ wide, 20″ deep, and 38″ tall. Meanwhile, the side chairs measure 20.75″ wide, 20″ deep, and 38″ tall. The distance from the floor to the top of the seats measures 18.25″ and to the arm rests measures 27.5″.
