This quaint piano stool is a great looking piece of furniture. Sturdy and strong, it’s ready to be used immediately for either sitting or to add the finishing touch to a room. Originally made in England around the year 1960, it will make a fine addition to any home!
The wood used to craft this stunning piece is oak. It has been ebonized, which is a process of staining the wood black. This, combined with the shape of the turnings and feet, give the piano stool a Victorian appearance.
Covering the top of the stool is a blue velvet. This velvet has obviously been added over top of the original, which was a maroon color. Since the upper velvet is not in great shape, it would be advisable and easy to recover it with a color of your choosing. The cushioned top swings up to reveal a large storage space inside.
While the overall condition of this piece is sturdy and strong, it does have some cosmetic items to mention. First, the oak wood has numerous marks and dings to the finish throughout the piece. None of these are glaring or obvious enough to detract from the stool, but they are noticeable upon close inspection. As mentioned, the velvet has some damage as well. The hinges inside were obviously replaced at some point, but the new ones work well. Overall, this is a really unique piano stool that should go with a variety of styles. Don’t miss your chance to add it to your collection today!
