A hard to find set of eight (six sides and two arms) mahogany dining chairs that were made in England around 1960. These Regency style chairs have beautiful tapered legs that are quite sturdy and the shield backs are decorated in wheat sheaf carvings. The mahogany is a lovely, lighter brown color that has aged well over the years. The chair seats do not have upholstery on them. What you see in the pictures is a muslin and each will need to be covered in fabric.
All of the chairs are very sturdy and there are no breaks or repairs. There are minor dings here and there as you would expect from chairs of this age. These seem to mostly be around the feet. Otherwise this set of eight mahogany dining chairs is in wonderful condition and are ready to go right into the dining room! Each arm chair measures 21.75″ wide x 22.5″ deep x 38.25″ tall with a seat height of 18″ and an arm height of 26.75″. The side chairs measure 21″ wide x 22.5″ deep x 38.25″ tall with a seat height of 18″. A set of eight dining chairs like this can fit around most tables. Some people will even leave six chairs around their table and use the other two as accent chairs elsewhere in the home. Then during gatherings they can pull those two chairs back to the table for extra seating.
