This beautiful antique mahogany chest of drawers was handmade in Victorian England around 1890. The mahogany wood has developed a deep, rich patina that complements the natural beauty of the wood, which is coated with a fine wax finish. Solid brass, wingedd Chippendale style pulls adorn the drawers. While these are no doubt not the original pulls they look great on the piece! A rosewood band and satinwood string inlay detail can be found around the top providing additional elegance to the piece. The keyhole escutcheons are a standard inset brass. Alas, while each of the five drawers has a lock, no key remains.
The feet are a tall, slender bracket foot. This really gives the chest of drawers a more delicate look and elevates it to an impressive 42″ tall. A very slightly shaped apron connects the feet in the front.
The top has some minor marks in it which we have photographed. With that and a normal amount of minor wear in the shape of small dings, stains, and marks here and there this chest remains in very good condition. It is sturdy and does not wobble and the drawers open and close very easily (which is important in a piece like this). This Victorian mahogany chest of drawers has a beautiful and unique look, don’t miss your chance to add it to your home collection today!
