This mahogany bow front bookcase was recently hand-crafted according to the highest quality Old World standards. Our exclusive third-generation cabinetmaker carefully selected the mahogany and satinwood inlays, cut them to size, and refined them for the final product. The rich mahogany and satinwood certainly complement one another very beautifully. Once applying these inlays to the underlying solid wood structure, the cabinetmaker then distressed them using stone and iron, finished them, and hand-rubbed a final coat of wax to enrich and protect the natural beauty of the wood. The result is a stunning wood complexion that will remain healthy and beautiful for many decades to come. To keep this finish at its peak, reapplying wax twice a year will help repair and maintain the wax coating.
True to its function, this bow front bookcase is also quite useful. With a total of eighteen shelves, this piece could house a small library! Each shelf rests on a pair of alligator brackets and is quite thick and strong, ideal for housing even the sturdiest and heaviest of books. Owing to the classic bow front design, the middle shelves are 2″ deeper than the outer shelves. Using a centuries-old design, the structure is composed of three main sections–which also happen to be the most obvious–the middle and two sides. They contain discreetly pre-drilled holes and can be screwed together for added security, which we recommend. Due to such a flexible design, this bow front bookcase can be installed in nearly any office setting in spite of its considerable size and adjusted to custom fit its contents. Overall the bookcase itself is quite sturdy and promises to last for years to come. This time-defying essence is, after all, the true value of an heirloom quality piece like this, which is every bit an investment as it is a piece of fine, bench-made furniture. Certainly this bow front bookcase would make a fine addition to any furniture collection!
