What a stunning piece this light wood dining table is! Full of charm and uniqueness, it will be the talk of your home whenever you have guests. Made to easily seat eight to ten people, you can fit the whole family around it.
One of the two distinguishing features of this table is the unique wood it was made from. Known as pippy oak, the wood features a wide variety of bird’s eyes, swirling grain, and character. The maker has chosen this wood as it is ideal for finishing in a light color as you see here. Perhaps one of today’s more popular looks is to use a light wood dining table like this to provide an elegant but not overly formal look in the home.
Light Wood Dining Table Construction
The second important feature of this dining table is its construction. Newly made in England, the maker has employed his third generation knowledge of furniture crafting to make this piece. It is not only beautiful, but sturdy and made to last for lifetimes. The top is made of faux planks (made to look like a plank top) with square wood pegs driven in to complete the look. French legs were used for their elegant but simple look and sturdy support.
Protecting the wood is a traditional seven stage hand rubbed finish. While painstaking and time consuming, a hand rubbed finish like this is the only way to provide a rich finish. It glows with the proper sheen of an antique. Also, the top coats are a hand rubbed wax which will protect the wood and can easily be replenished with furniture paste wax from any hardware store.
Finally, this light wood dining table is an heirloom quality piece of furniture that will make an eye-catching addition to any home! It can be easily paired with almost any dining chair, making it a very versatile addition to your furniture collection.
The height from the floor to the bottom of the apron is just over 25″.
