The sturdy elegance of this antique wardrobe is noticeable at a moments glance. It is simple but full of brilliant character. It was made from the finest selections of mahogany and is in excellent condition considering the age of the piece.
Charming and Warm
The mahogany of this antique armoire has a gorgeous, deep patina. The waxed finish provides the perfect sheen to complement the sleek surfaces. Subtle carvings on the cornice blend perfectly with the mahogany. The paneled doors shut with a latch on the interior of the left door and the lock and key on the right. The interior measures about 18″ deep with a hangar rod for hanging clothes, multiple sturdy hooks for coats, and a shelf at the top. Also, inside the right door hangs a collection of lighter hooks for tie or scarves. With all of this sitting atop an extremely sturdy bracket foot base, this piece is a marvelous addition to any dressing space.
This stunning piece was made in England. It is about 55 years old dating back to around 1960. It is in excellent condition for its age. The key present works the lock (but sometimes you have to turn it twice to unlock fully). Otherwise there are some very minor dings here and there as you would expect from something this old. Other than these minor character enhancers this armoire is extremely strong and in very good condition. It is a truly wonderful piece of antique furniture that will adorn your home for generations.
The very top crown and bracket foot base do come off, but the rest ships in one piece so you will need to make sure this will fit through any tight turns or doors in your home.
