Product Description

The rustic elegance of this antique armoire is noticeable from across the room. It’s simple but full of character. It was made from very thick, solid oak panels and is in very good shape today!

Charming and Warm

The solid oak of this antique armoire is a beautiful light color rich with character and detail. The waxed finish provides the perfect sheen which complements all of the knots and indentations of the wood. Subtle brass hardware (the hinges and the escutcheons) blends well with the wood. The paneled door shuts via magnetic catches inside (obviously added later). These were added because there is no longer a lock on the door. A key is present to use like a handle though. Inside you will find four wooden removable shelves. One of these shelves has a drawer underneath it. This interior measures about 20″ deep, perfect for a variety of uses. From storage to a place to put a TV, this antique armoire is full of possibilities. It would be equally at home placed in a living room, bedroom, or kitchen.

Antique armoire

This stunning piece was made somewhere in continental Europe, we think France. It is about 130 years old dating back to around 1880. It is in very good condition for its age. There are some minor age separations that we come to expect in solid wood pieces. These are purely cosmetic and do not affect the structural integrity of the armoire. They are located on the right and left sides and we have included pictures of them. The door does have a gap between it and the armoire when it is closed. This is pictured as well. Otherwise this armoire is strong and in very good condition. It is a truly wonderful piece of antique furniture that will adorn your home for generations.
