This pair of leather wing back arm chairs was originally made in England around 1980. Finding a matched pair of these beautiful chairs is hard to do and we feel this pair is a great find!
Queen Anne style
This style of wing back arm chair is a Queen Anne style as denoted by the short, bun feet and overall shape of the wing backs. These feet are made from mahogany as we assume the entire frame is. The pair is quite sturdy and in excellent structural condition.
Gorgeous burgundy leather pair of wing back arm chairs
The beautiful leather is a burgundy (sometimes called oxblood) leather with an eye-pleasing worn look to it. The subtle curves of the arms and wings are accented with the usual brass brads that we see in traditional English leather furniture. Each chair also features a tufted leather bottom adding a little interest to an otherwise bland area of the chair.
Both chairs were recently refurbished in England to bring back the leather’s original color and luster. The leather on both chairs still has a slightly worn look. The right chair shows slightly more signs of aging than the left, but these are relatively insignifigant. However neither chair has any scratches or punctures to the leather and both are very sturdy. The cushions have recently been re-stuffed and are quite comfortable. The dimensions of the seating area on each chair are 18″ wide and 21″ deep. The seats are 17″ from the floor and the arms are 23″ from the floor.
