This exquisite flame mahogany writing desk is handmade in England by a third-generation cabinetmaker as a Georgian Period reproduction. The flame mahogany, which is treated to an elaborate finishing process that ends in a rich layer of hand-rubbed wax, displays the striking grain and complexion for which this variety of mahogany is prized the world over. The leather, too, shows a rich complexion and grain that looks especially striking with the hand-worked gold tooling and embossing that trace the border of the leather. Optional satinwood crossbanding and solid brass hardware contrast beautifully with the flame mahogany and leather, while the fluted corners and square tapered legs also look wonderful. Conveniently, each drawer locks, and the center drawer face falls to reveal a finished keyboard drawer. The sides and back feature faux pulls, as well. Because this writing desk is handmade using old-fashioned English techniques, it is as sturdy as it is beautiful, and will endure for generations to come!
