Handmade English Walnut Credenza

Designed in a classic Georgian style, this beautiful burl walnut credenza offers a glamorous combination of period design and modern functionality. A variety of drawers and a central cabinet contain plenty of storage, while the quality construction ensures that this piece will last for many years to come.

Modern functionality for the office

In total, this credenza contains five standard drawers, two file drawers that fit legal-sized and letter-sized files, and a central two-door cabinet.  All of these individual compartments lock with a set of antique style skeleton keys. Such a piece can store a great many items and files as a modern storage solution.

Timeless period style

As beautiful as it is functional, this burl walnut credenza has been hand-crafted with the utmost faith to traditional design. The wood has been treated to an elaborate finishing process, beginning with distressing the surfaces and staining them. Next, several coats of lacquer were applied, followed by a thorough polish of hand-rubbed paste wax. This last step protects the wood while it also makes it look even more beautiful. Finally, the top and drawers are adorned with walnut crossbanding to accent the stunning burl walnut, while the drawers all feature traditional solid brass swan neck pulls–a favorite in Georgian and Victorian period furniture.

Heirloom quality standards

The third-generation cabinetmaker who crafted this credenza did not just stop at beauty and functionality. It is also an extremely well-made, sturdy, and durable piece. The underlying structure is made of thick, hard wood, while the hand-cut dovetailed joints on the drawers ensure the best strength possible. The locks and hardware have all been forged in England, just as they have been for centuries, so they are top-grade hardware just like the carefully selected burl walnut veneers. Finally, the plinth base offers very stable support for this credenza, which as a true heirloom quality piece should last for many decades to come!
