A unique and beautiful set, these antique dining chairs are done in a true Regency style. The set consists of six chairs total, four side chairs and two arm chairs. They are made in solid mahogany and remain quite strong and sturdy today.
The Regency style is large characterized by the sabre shaped back legs. Rolled back rests and the clean lines are other characteristics of the era. We refer to this set of chairs as Regency style because they were made in England around the year 1910, whereas the Regency period ran from around 1810-1837.
Antique Dining Chairs
These dining chairs exhibit other attractive qualities as well. The turned front legs have a decorative look without being overly done. Each back rest has a hand carved medallion. Decorative fluting adorns the back rests, arm rests, and the seat frames. A floral pattern upholstery adorns each seat and all of the upholstery appears to be in excellent condition.
Each of the six dining chairs is sturdy and strong. There are two repairs to mention that we have detailed in the pictures. On one arm chair the right corner of the back rest has been replaced. One of the side chairs had the top of the back rest broken and has been since repaired. Both repairs appear strong and well done. Besides these two repairs the chairs are in excellent condition with very little wear anywhere else.
Each arm chair measures 21.5″ wide x 22″ deep x 35″ tall. The arm rests are 28″ from the floor. The side chairs measure 19.5″ wide x 21″ deep x 34.25″ tall. All six chairs have a 19″ seat height.
