Regency style dining chairs are defined by their sabre shaped legs and simple, yet decorative backrests. This particular set of Regency style dining chairs is no exception and even has a very nice satinwood inlay on the backrest. The set consists of five side chairs and one arm chair, all of which were made in England around 1960. Each seat cushion is a pop out seat making reupholstering very easy. The current fabric is serviceable but shows some signs of wear and age. You may wish to plan on reupholstering the chairs when you receive them.
There are quite a few features of these chairs that make them unusual and attractive. The most obvious is the satinwood inlay on the back rest. The backrests also have beautiful x-shaped slats, which add a unique flair to the set of chairs. Fluting runs down each front leg, back rests, and all down the curved arm rests of the arm chair. The wood is a lovely mahogany that has a very warm, inviting color. This set of six antique Regency style mahogany dining chairs remains quite sturdy and in very good condition today. There is some wear in the form of minor dings and slight indents here and there, but otherwise they are in really good shape.
The arm chair measures 22″ wide x 21″ deep x 35.25″ tall with a seat height of 19″ and an arm height of 28.25″. Each side chair measures 20.25″ wide x 20″ deep x 34.25″ tall with a seat height of 19″.
