Hand-crafted in England during the 1960’s, these elegant Regency style dining chairs remain every bit as sturdy and beautiful as the day they were made. Crafted with mahogany and traditional upholstered seats, they would make a fine addition to any dining room collection.
Classic Regency style
The Regency period lasted in England from 1800-1830, so named for King George IV’s reign from 1811 to 1820. In England, Regency period furniture emerged within an international design movement. Influenced by Napoleon’s desire to resurrect the grandeur of Rome, empire furniture drew heavily from precedents in ancient Greek and Roman models discovered during anthropological studies. The result is that Regency dining chairs like these are quite distinct from other period English designs, with a simple but elegant curvature in the entirety of the solid mahogany frame, beginning with the brass-inlaid backrests and moving down through the seats to the sturdy, sabre legs.
Quality dining chairs
These Regency dining chairs are not only beautiful, but they also remain very sturdy and for the most part free of wear. The beautiful patterns on the seat cushions are still just as vibrant as ever, and the fabric remains in excellent condition. Only around the bottoms of the feet are any forms of wear visible. The seat to floor height is 18 inches, giving the individual plenty of room when sitting at a dining table. A large set of 10 Regency dining chairs like this is not easy to come by, so don’t miss your chance to own them today!
