A classic, serpentine front design, this traditional antique sideboard is a style that has anchored home decor for much of modern time. It is a great piece for displaying your hand picked decor and storing what you’d like to have put away. Made in England around the year 1960, it will make a lovely and charming addition to any home.
The overall condition of this piece is very good. It has several veneer chips on the front edge and one on the back right corner of the top, but these have been finished over and provide a little charm to the piece. Otherwise it is in great shape. The drawers and cabinets all work easily. There is a single key which locks the top drawer and both doors. Sitting on six legs it is very sturdy and strong.
Traditional Antique Sideboard Construction
Flame mahogany is the primary wood used for this piece. The flared grain quite evident on the cabinet doors and drawer fronts. A lovely mahogany cross band and satinwood string inlay accent the edges as well for a wonderful look. Both drawers were constructed with dovetailed joints. This type of joint is the strongest and provides the most durable drawer.
A gentle serpentine front provides this traditional antique sideboard with a flowing, almost whimsical look. The small brass ring shaped pulls look great on the medium brown mahogany wood. Inside the right cabinet is a removable wood shelf. This is a stunning piece of furniture that has plenty of charm. Don’t miss your chance to add it to your collection today!
