Here is a lovely mahogany bow front dresser that features five drawers and a lovely satin banded top. This piece was originally made in 1890 in England and was recently imported to our Atlanta antique furniture store. The drawers have hand cut dovetails and the splayed bracket feet are still quite sturdy. The mahogany wood has an attractive, medium brown color and a lovely grain. On the top the grain is especially pronounced. Each drawer opens and closes easily. There are locks but no key remains. Each drawer has some very nice brass ring drop pulls. They are not original to the chest but look great on it.
This Victorian period bow front chest of drawers has an overall good condition. It is clean and ready to be used immediately. There are small wear marks throughout as you will see in the pictures. The frame between the middle drawers had a section of veneer replaced at some point and to the left of the top left drawer there are two small gouges in the wood. These marks do not affect the integrity of the chest and do lend character and interest to the piece. This chest is quite sturdy and would make a wonderful addition to any bedroom, entryway, or living room.
