This walnut vintage desk would make a unique and wonderful addition to any home or office! The gently serpentine shaped front is rare and really sets this piece apart. It was originally made in England sometime around the year 1960 and remains in very good condition today. There are almost no wear marks on the piece at all. Recently, in England, the desk received a new leather top.
The walnut wood has a light, mellow color that goes well with the black leather top. Further enhancing the color of the wood are the gold tooling around the leather and the brass handles on the drawers. This vintage desk has seven drawers in total, each one fashioned with dovetailed joints. None of the drawers were made with locks. The desk sits up on stunning Queen Anne style legs, which give the piece a lighter feel than a solid base. This desk does NOT break down, however, it’s small size should allow it to easily fit through doorways etc.
Vintage Desk Unique Feature
Besides its unique shaped front, this vintage desk also exhibits subtle carvings on the corners of the desk and top molding. Also, the sides display the wonderful walnut as well. The back is not finished and has marks that indicated this piece may have originally been a dressing table with mirror. It would make a great work space for a small office, living room / den, or as a child’s desk. An heirloom piece for sure!
Finally, it is 23″ from the floor to the bottom of the middle drawer area and that knee area is 21″ wide. Don’t miss your chance to own a wonderful mahogany vintage desk today!
