Originally made in England 10-20 years ago, this vintage open bookcase remains in excellent condition today. It provides sturdy and stylish shelving to display books or other items. Fluted sides and a beautiful satinwood inlay come together to make it an elegant piece of furniture.
All four shelves of this piece can adjust via an alligator bracket system. This system consists of two movable wood brackets per shelf that fit into notches cut inside the bookshelf. Having adjustable shelves means you can tailor this bookcase to fit your needs. Also, each shelf has a depth of 10.25″ which should house most books.
Another beautiful feature is the breakfront design. With the middle being inset from the sides, you get a more interesting looking piece than a flat front.
Mahogany and Satinwood
With a dark mahogany color, this vintage open bookcase will fit into most rooms flawlessly. To add a little contrast to the wood, the maker inlaid satinwood bell flowers along the top. This traditional element helps the bookcase stand out. Also, fluted columns on either side of the front add to the elegant look. Finally, a solid plinth base provides sturdy support to the entire piece.
Vintage Open Bookcase Condition
This bookshelf has survived the years well. The plinth base shows the only wear with slight marks and indents across it. We have included a close up sampling of this in the pictures. Otherwise, this vintage open bookcase remains in excellent and sturdy condition. It will make a lovely addition to any home, office, or library!
