This lovely set of vintage upholstered dining chairs consists of four side chairs with solid oak frames. They were made in England sometime around the year 1960 and remain sturdy and beautiful today. They would make a wonderful set of kitchen chairs or compliment to an existing set.
The oak is a crown cut oak (also known as quarter-sawn) which is evident mostly on the back legs. The front legs feature lovely turned and hand carved balusters and all legs are connected with stretchers for added stability. This will help the chairs to last for many, many more years. Being vintage the oak does have some minor marks here and there. One chair has a small repair at the top which we have pictured and one chair has a slight age separation in the leg which you sometimes see in solid wood pieces. This is not affecting the strength of the leg it is purely cosmetic.
Upholstered Dining Chairs
Each chair features needlepoint upholstery on the seat and back rest. The needlepoint depicts fruit and flora. Large brass brads are used to help hold the fabric tight. The seats and upholstery are all still in very good condition.
The height from the floor to the top of the seat is 19.5″. This set of four vintage upholstered dining chairs would make an attractive and lasting addition to any home!
